Marvel’s Civil War Masterpost

khatman:

Civil War is a 2006-2007 Marvel Comics crossover storyline built around a self-titled seven-issue limited series written by Mark Millar and penciled by Steve McNiven, which ran through various other titles published by Marvel at the time.

Pretty much Civil War has a no holds bar and involves nearly every mutant or human or alien known in the Marvel-verse and just fucks things up.

The United States decides to pass the Superhuman Registration Act, which requires anybody in the USA with any sort of superhuman abilities to to register with the federal government as a “human weapon of mass destruction,” reveal their true identity to the authorities, and undergo proper training.

Characters within the superhuman community in the Marvel Universe split into two groups:

  • one advocating the registration as a responsible obligation, and
  • the other opposing the law on the grounds that it violates civil liberties and the protection that secret identities provide.

Animated Gif of Captain America and Iron Man without masks or helmets on fighting which causes sparks. On the foreground has the hashtag "#FUCKING CIVIL WAR" flashing.

Warning: This arc will have you feeling so many feelings. Continue at your own discretion. Under the read more will be the issues to avoid dash clogging.

Favorite Marvel Ladies X-23 // Laura Kinney

The woman who carried me in her womb read me stories. I remember. Pinocchio. A puppet. Until he became a real boy. I am not real. Not yet. I was born inside a cage. Raised inside a cage. I am here because I do not know how to live any other way. But I will learn. I can have what I want. I can change. Watch me.

I didn’t like the way Laura was written at all in the Venom crossover. But Laura is still very fierce here, like always!
